President Barack Obama Speech on Wednesday

Please be sure and get informed and do your homework. Pay attention to what President Obama says and see if you can find false information in his speeches. Be sure and follow up with Glenn Beck and I guarantee he will point them out to you.

Speech to our kids at school

President Barack Obama will give a 18 minute speech to our kids at school without our supervision and or permission. This is political propoganda that our children should not be exposed to. Many feel so strong about this that the parents will keep their kids home from school on Tuesday.

Read To Me International

Please read to your child and or bring them to FREE storytimes such as libraries and Barnes and Noble Bookstore on Tuesdays and Saturdays at 11am for a fun craft that they are so proud of and can take them home. Even if you think your child is too young or walks around. They are listening even if you think they are not. The benefits are so much more important than to worry about what other moms might think that your child is being disruptive. Other moms are probably thinking that my child use to do the same thing.
If you continue to bring them to storytimes, the children get use to it on a consistent basis. Just keep bringing them and eventually it pays off.
Ten terrific read aloud tips:
-Read to your child everyday
-Create an aura of specialness around read alouds
-Find a comfortable intimate spot
-Pre-read the story
-Introduce the titles and authors/illustrators of the book
-Have your child predict what the story is about
-Change your voice to fit the mood, action and voice
-Discuss what is happening ("How would you feel if you were the character?")
-Ask your child what he/she enjoyed about the story.
-After reading, enjoy a related activity together, e.g. act out the story, do a craft, cook.
The benefits of reading to your child also increases your childs brain power! It helps your baby's brain from ages 0-3 years. Reading builds very important skills for learning, and when ready, for reading and writing such as language, listening comprehension, attention span, vocabulary, imagination, critical thinking, phoenmic awareness, phonics and fluency.
FIVE EASY READ ALOUD TIPS:
1. Read to your child everyday. Set aside at least 10 min. to make reading aloud an exciting routine.
2. Read with expression in your voice. Bring the story to life.
3. Select a book which encourages you to 'talk story' with your child.
4. In additon to stories, recite or sing nursery rhymes, poetry, chants and chldren's songs.
5. Read books again and again.
For more info go to www.readtomeintl.org and they have more important info and books for children of different ages. www.reachoutandread.org/resource_develop.html for more reasons to help your child's deveopment.
